Objectives

Through a process engineering approach, to introduce conventional treatment techniques in the production of drinking water, treatment of wastewater and sludge, then study of unit operations liquid/solid treatment.

Description

Drinking water treatment :

  • Conventional treatments: coagulation-flocculation, decantation, filtration, disinfection ;
  • Desalination of brackish water and sea water ;
  • New treatments: membrane processes, nitrification, denitrification.
  • Sizing of unit operations: filtration, membrane filtration, chromatography and decantation/centrifugation

 

Sanitation :

  • Implementation of stations, characterization of urban effluents;
  • Pretreatments: storage, screening, sieving ;
  • Primary treatments;
  • Secondary treatment.

Sludge treatment and valorization :

  • Thickening ;
  • Aerobic and anaerobic sludge digestion; dewatering
