Objectives
The objectives of this course are:
- to understand an antenna datasheet
- to be able to choose the right antenna given a set of specifications
- to know how to qualify an antenna (simulation/measurement)
- to know how to analyze antenna simulation/measurement curves
Description
Students will become familiar with the concept of wave propagation and electromagnetic radiation. They will learn about the different characteristics of antennas (datasheet) and the different families of antennas. Antenna networking will be discussed. Antenna simulation and measurement techniques will be detailed.
Pre-requisites
Complex calculus. Basics of electromagnetism.
