Objectives
To understand the value of a system's internal variables using various estimation techniques based on measuring the system's outputs
Description
To control or optimize a system, it is often necessary to know the value of that system's internal variables. Since these are not directly accessible through measurement, they must be estimated. Estimation then consists of modifying the knowledge of the value of the internal variables based on values measured at the system outputs.
The course outline is as follows:
1- Static estimation
2- Discrete-time processes
3- Continuous-time processes
A BE is also offered on absolute, visual, and inertial navigation.
